Real Estate and Advisory Leadership Community
International Facilities Management Association
December 15, 2016 (virtual presentation)

Webinar delivered online to members of the Real Estate and Advisory Leadership (REAL) community of IFMA. Presentation focused first on the importance for real estate and facilities managers of holding strategic conversations with executives. Then we focused on two particular kinds of strategic conversations: scenario planning and future search conferences.

“Raising the Bar: Enhancing the Strategic Role of Facilities Management”

Presented to the Houston, Texas, Chapter of IFMA on June 16, 2013. This presentation is based on a research study Jim led for RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) in 2012. However, it goes well beyond the original research to propose a new strategic vision and role for facilities professionals.

“The Future of Business Collaboration”

Webinar hosted by ZDNet and sponsored by Citrix Online

November 30, 2011

Based on a recently-completed white paper of the same name (downloadable at this link). This one-hour webinar addressed the fact that in the future of work there are just two certainties: work will be more distributed, and it will be more collaborative. Yet these two factors are in direct conflict with each other.

Citrix Online has also posted a recording that includes both the presentation slides and Jim’s audio commentary (as well as introductions, added commentary from Katelyn de Diego of Citrix, and a few minutes of Q&A).

You can view that one-hour recording online at this link:
